Triggers. Triggers. Triggers Ahhhhhh...Left, right, no where to go. War zone in the mind. Just one more hit, one more masturbation, one more drink, one more sniff, one more cut. Just one more. You don't understand. I need just. one. more...Relief. Relief. Relief. I NEED RELIEF. HELLLLPPPPP!!!
Addiction is a spirit. It keeps your mind in moments of comatose. It makes you feel incapacitated; lack of control. Addiction runs in a sect; to its 6 you have Trauma, to the 12 you have Abuse, to the 3 you have Anxiety, to the 9 you have Depression aka T.A.A.D Gang. And just like leaving a Gang overcoming your addiction is costly. They were there for you when everyone abandoned you. They gave you a safe space. They made you feel like family. They saw you. 24/7 they protected you.
Choosing to leave, you loose a part of you; part of what has become your DNA. There will be nail biting, heart pumping, lonely moments. The biggest lies goes on a reel in your mind "I'm good" "I'm not like that person" "I'm not hurting anybody" "I'm in control" "I can quit whenever"
Addiction being a spirit, natural effort won't overcome it. Practical step-by-step process helps with the maintenance. To truly overcome addiction, you have to go against the 4 headed monster of the T.A.A.D Gang.
Addiction is not the root cause, it's a byproduct. It takes the acts of God, the self belief to submit to God, and the choice to let go.
If you know of anyone that's battling with addiction, it's not easy choosing to overcome. They are going against the status quo; their biology; their DNA. Be available, be ready, and be prepared for them when the journey begins. Because it's TOUGH and ROUGH. But for FREEDOM, it's worth it.
